That must be where the oil companies got the idea.FWIW the distilleries started in Pennsylvania and moved west to avoid taxes.
One of Paul Klipsch's patents kind of revolves around this with the cornerhorn. Also surprised that people would point the horn at a corner and listen to it's reflection--you learn something every day here.....
Actually, quite a few speaker companies incorporated room reflection in various forms into their design goals, others tried to design it "out" of the presentation.
One of the marketing highlights of the model 14 was that the geometry and polar response of the horn was such that "first reflection" HF program material arrives well behind the listener in an ideal room/set-up. While not at all part of the recipe for the intended listener, room reflections were surely a consideration in the design.
I was in the coal mine area of Kentucky once...It's a place you won't soon forget. It was exciting to see.
Apparently our fist prez made whiskey...

Your neighbors called. They like your music.
Except he was the 8th president.
John Hansen was the first elected president of the US under the articles of confederation. There would be 6 more before the Constitution was adopted, Washington would be the first US prez under the new Constitution, and the first to serve more than a 1 year term.
This is exactly what I do with my party speakers for the reasons you have noted. They are TV stands for the most part but when good judgement ended a few hours before and it's time to get silly, it's great that they don't hurt when you get close to them ie: dancing. 15" coax's with a powered 15" woofer at floor level. Boom boom!
Nothing like a great big pair of speakers to make your day.

If Washington was sampling his own product I would think it might make his wooden teeth very flammable. Hope he wasn't also a smoker!
